1989 Yamaha XV250 Virago Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration Project
This sweet little 1989 Yamaha XV250 Virago low rider has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Ignition key being the most obvious. We also noted that the ignition barrell is damaged, the paint is sun-faded, the headlight is damaged and the tailight lens is broken. But the chrome is nice and bright and the bike is straight and clean.
The wheels are straight with clean chrome and working brakes. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The headlight bowl and rim look straight. Instruments and switches look ok and move freely. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The paintwork is slightly faded but solid. The seat looks in good condition. The indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy and bright. Both mud guards are straight and solid. The standard exhaust is solid but there are a few marks on the silencers.
The engine is cosmetically clean. BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery, hot wired it and fed fresh fuel through the carbs we had it running/revving but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
