1972 Suzuki T500J Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration Project
This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1972 Suzuki T500J Titan has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 15937 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Mirrors, ignition key, indicators, battery, airbox & grabrail being the most obvious. It has stood a while, so the non-standard paintwork is faded & the original cascade green is showing through, tyres & fork gators are perished. Sadly, the speedometer has taken a knock, so the outer cover & clock face are loose.
The engine is cosmetically very clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs but it is obvious the carbs need attention.
