1988 Honda NS400R Unregistered Jap Import Very Rare Classic Restoration Project
This very much sought after 1988 Honda NS400R has recently been imported from Japan where it has spent all its life. This and the fact it's only showing 8314 km (5200 miles) make it a very good proposition for restoring.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Mirrors & ignition key being the most obvious. It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, tyres are perished, rear brake master cylinder is not working, lots of alloy parts are oxidised & ferrous parts are rusty. Sadly, the screen & top fairing cowl are cracked.
This is the actual bike for sale – Not library pictures & it is extremely original.
The wheels look straight as do the forks & yokes. Mudguard is solid. Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & indicators. Instruments & switches look faded but ok. Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is all original ABS plastic, fuel tank sounds useably clean inside when you tap it with a knuckle and has just minor dents/marks & scratches in the original paint. Exhausts are original & appear to be solid. Seat is in good condition throughout.
The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT sadly we couldn't get it to chime in!?
