1978 Kawasaki KZ1000A Unregistered US Import Classic Restoration Project
This much sought after 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000A has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Chainguard, Airbox. Ignition Key and battery being the most obvious. We also noted that; the exhaust is non standard, the electric start button is seized and there are a few marks in the otherwise bright paint.
The wheels are straight with bright chrome rims, good looking discs & calipers but the brakes aren't working. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. Instruments and other switches look ok. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The replica seat is in good condition throughout. The indicators are tidy. Both mud guards are straight and bright. The non-standard exhaust is solid.
The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
