1980 Honda GL1100 Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Project
This big old 1980 Honda GL1100 Goldwing has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – battery, battery cover and front indicators being the most obvious. It's also in need of a starter motor and we noted that the throttle is stuck.
The wheels are straight but there are some marks to the alloy, good discs, calipers and working brakes. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl but the lens is slightly loose. Instruments and switches move freely. The paintwork is slightly faded with a few marks throughout, fuel tank smells of old fuel but doesn't look too bad inside. The seat base is in good condition throughout. The rear indicators are tidy. Both mud guards are straight and crack-free. The exhaust is solid but stained.
The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it turning over with compression but the bike will need a new starter so we haven't had it running.
