1975 Yamaha DT250B Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Project
This little 1975 Yamaha DT250B has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – mirrors, indicators, Headlight and brackets, switch hubs and revometer and LH side panel being the most obvious. There is a dent in the RH side of the tank, the rear mudguard is broken and the engine appears to be out of a DT360/RT3 although w ehave been unable to find an engine number to confirm.
The wheels are straight with clean chrome rims. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is non-standard but is good. The paintwork has a few marks but is otherwise quite bright, fuel tank has some surface rust inside. The seat base is solid but there is some surface rust.
The engine is cosmetically clean. It turns over and we have had it sparking but it's low on compression so we haven't had it running.
