This very much sought after 1984 Yamaha DT200R has recently been imported from Japan where it has spent all its life. This and the fact it's only showing 11904 km (7500 miles) and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain some of its boyish good looks.

We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.

As you can see this bike is nearly complete missing just the l/h mirror.

It has stood a while, so the battery is flat & paintwork/plastics are faded, tachometer & front mudguard are damaged.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.

This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures.

The wheels look straight with clean alloy rims, good tyres, hubs & brake plate, disc, caliper & working master cylinder.

Forks & yokes look straight.

Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & cowl.

Carburettor is free sliding off the twist grip.

Fuel tank is useably clean inside with minor rust spots but has rust scabs in the paint.

Exhaust is original & solid.

Shock absorber is damping fine.

The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs.

Larger bikes or destinations in Scotland, Cornwall or within the M25 area will cost more.
