This very clean Tax & MOT exempt 1978 Honda CX500 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life.

While it looks entirely plausible, we have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.

As you can see this bike is complete and remarkably original.

It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, seat cover is perished & front mudguard is pitted.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.

This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from years ago.

The wheels look straight with nice clean rims, good hubs & brake plate, disc, caliper & working master cylinder.

Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome.

Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & cowl.

Instruments & switches look good.

Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.

Paintwork is solid, fuel tank is useably clean inside and has just minor dents/marks & scratches in the original paint.

Exhausts are original & solid.

Seat base is in good condition throughout.

Indicators are tidy.

The engine is cosmetically clean - when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, it fires, starts, runs & revs but the carbs were leaking fuel & need attention.
