This lovely 1978 Honda CX500 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life.

This and the fact it's only showing 16250 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.

While it looks entirely plausible, we have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.

PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES.

As you can see this bike is remarkably original & nearly complete missing just the ignition key and right-hand side panel badge.

It has stood a while, so the battery is flat.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.

The wheels look straight with nice clean rims, good hubs & brake plate, disc, caliper & working master cylinder.

Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy.

Mudguard is tidy.

Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & cowl.

Instruments & switches look good.

Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.

Paintwork is solid, fuel tank sounds clean inside when you tap it with a knuckle.

Exhausts are original & appear to be solid.

Seat is in good condition throughout.

Indicators are tidy.

The engine is cosmetically clean.

BUT BEST OF ALL

When we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, it fires, starts, runs & revs but it is obvious the carbs need attention.

Larger bikes or destinations in Scotland, Cornwall or within the M25 area will cost more.
