1968 Honda CL90 Scrambler Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration
This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1968Honda CL90 Scrambler has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 5183 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Mirrors & battery being the most obvious. It has stood a while, so the paintwork is faded & tyres are perished. Sadly, the l/h switch is broken where the mirror mounts.
This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from 55 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.....A great find!
The wheels look straight with nice clean chrome rims, good hubs & brake plates. Forks & yokes look straight & clean. Mudguards are both solid & are tidy. Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & cowl. Instruments look good. Carburettor is free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is useably clean inside and has just minor dents/marks & scratches in the original paint. Exhaust is original & solid. Seat base is in very good condition throughout, but cover has had a couple of repairs. Chain guard is tidy.
The engine is cosmetically very clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs.
