1981 Honda CB750F Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Project
This well-respected and much sought after 1981 Honda CB750F has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – pillion pegs and hangers being the most obvious. We also noted that here are some rust scabs in the paintwork, the seat cover is torn, the choke isn't working and the exhaust blows a bit.
The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy. The forks and yokes look straight but are slightly pitted on the top LH leg. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. Instruments look ok and switches move freely. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The fuel tank is quite mucky inside. The indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are straight and solid. The standard exhaust is solid. The engine is cosmetically clean.
BUT BEST OF ALL when we fed fresh fuel through the carb and hooked it up to a booster battery we had it firing/running and revving.
