1974 Honda CB750K4 Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration Project
This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1974 Honda CB750K4 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 23714 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
As you can see this bike is nearly complete missing just the start button & lights on/off knob from the r/h switch gear. It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded, tyres are perished & master cylinder is not working. Sadly, both the upper silencers are starting to rot where they meet the header pipes & the rear wheel is a 16” after market item.
This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from 49 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.....A great find!
The wheels look straight. Forks & yokes look straight. Mudguards are both solid but front is dented on top. Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments look ok. Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is faded but solid, fuel tank is useably clean inside. Exhausts are original & lower pipes appear to be solid. Seat is in fairly good condition throughout. Indicators are tidy. Chain guard is tidy as is the grab rail.
The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has great compression. BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs but it is obvious the carbs need attention.
