1974 Honda CB550K0 Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Project
This well-respected, Tax and MOT exempt, 1974 Honda CB550K0 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Mirrors and throttle being the most obvious. We also noted that the RH switch hub is hanging loose, there is a dent in the RH side of the tank, the exhausts are rotten, seat cover is torn and the paint is rust scabbed on the tank.
The wheels are straight with clean chrome rims on the front but the rear has some rust. The forks and yokes look straight and gators are intact. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. The fuel tank is grotty inside. The seat base is in good condition throughout. The indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are straight and bright.
Sadly the engine is seized, hopefully it will be through standing around forever but we have not inspected the engine internally so we have no idea why/how it has seized.
