1998 Yamaha YZF-R1 Jap Import Easy Running Project UK Registered
This rare first model collectable 1998 Yamaha YZF-R1 has recently been imported from Japan where it has spent all its life. Showing 55699km, it's been well loved by previous owners but has still managed to keep it's boyish good looks.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see this bike appears to be complete but we did note a few areas that could us some work; Scuffs down lower right hand panel (can be seen on pictures), Scrape On left hand side of tank and rear cowl and a crack in the front fairing. Please ask for close up images if required.
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS......... The wheels are straight and clean, good discs, calipers and working brakes. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good as is the headlight. Instruments and switches look ok. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is squeaky clean inside. The seat base is in good condition throughout, there is a tear in the passenger seat cover. The indicators are tidy in general but the front left stem seems slighty bent. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are solid. The Carbon exhaust is solid.
The engine is cosmetically clean. BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery, fed it some fresh fuel and gave it a prod, it starts, runs and revs.
