YAMAHA - TDR250

This very much sought after 1989 Yamaha TDR250 has recently been imported from Japan where it has spent all its life. This and the fact it's only showing 19431 km (12200 miles) and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.

We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.

The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!.

PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Screen blade, mirrors & r/h grab handle being the most obvious. It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded & tank is rust pitted, tank is mucky inside, tyres & seat cover are perished. Sadly the bike has had a tumble on the r/h side which has dented the exhaust & fuel tank and broken the air scoop.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures. The wheels look straight with reasonably clean alloy rims, good discs, calipers & working master cylinders. Forks & yokes look straight but gators are faded. Mudguard is solid & tidy. Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & indicators. Instruments & switches look ok. Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. Fuel tank will need flushing clean inside. Exhausts are original & solid. Chain guard is tidy. Shock absorber is damping fine. The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel from a dummy tank, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs.
